My dad is also Lecturer back in my country so he has always been a great inspiration; his expertise is completely different though. In regard to being scientist, it was my own curiosity and interest which led me to this job 🙂

I am very interested in moving into work related to nature conservation next, so currently I am particularly inspired by people working in this field (e.g. a well-known example would be Jane Goodall). As a female scientist, I am particularly inspired by female and non-binary role models, and particularly those who are finding their own, new ways to do things! I recently read a book by Robin Wall Kimmerer who is a botanist with indigenous heritage, and found it extremely inspiring. Likewise I attended a talk by a gardener/journalist called Alys Fowler who I found very inspiring.
