In the lab I use stem cells to grow tissues similar to human brain in very early stages of development (way before borth). We can grow tissues from human and apes and compare them to give us clues about human brain evolution. In human organoids we can change certain genes to look at development and disease.

My Typical Day:
My son is an early bird so I am usually up before 6am. I start work about 9 am and do work in the lab (experiments) and at my computer (data analysis and reading of scientific literature). I usually have lunch about 12.30 with other scientists in my group. I usually finish about 5 pm.
